In mid September of last year, baby K and I had the chance to visit Santa Monica’s newest Tongva Park, located on Ocean Avenue and Main Street (South of Colorado Ave). I fell in love with the scenery, ocean views, pretty walkways/paths, creative play structures and the artsy appreciation of the Tongva tribe. It felt like we were in a National Park overlooking the beach miles away!
We loved watching the water fountains spout in its own timing…K squealed every time the water would shoot out of its spout!
We stopped every few minutes to appreciate the variety of greenery planted along the paths and even had the chance to read about its history….
Strolling K in her Britax stroller, it was convenient to have ramped pathways throughout the park! Since then, we’ve visited a handful of times and have yet to take photos of the play structures (before the morning crowd arrives) to share!
My Rating: 5 Stars
Pros: Brand new park as of late fall 2013 (which means new equipment and very clean), stroller friendly, creative climbing and spinning equipment for little ones, slides and a water play area, nice ocean view, little paths to take your little one on a stroll (especially for when napping), picnic benches available throughout the park, shady areas for resting and plenty of restroom stalls including a larger baby changing stall!
Tips: Free 90-minute parking at the Santa Monica Place Mall on Colorado Avenue
