Cute Valentine Crafts Outside the Craft Room

Standard

Baby K’s afternoon was filled with creating cute Valentine-themed crafts. She was busy at work going from craft table to the next at one cause-worthy and another cultural event: Pablove Foundation’s True Pablove: A Valentine’s Family Celebration and the Japanese American National Museum’s Family Festival featuring KoAloha Ukulele.

Sponsored by Club MomMe (LA), we were able to attend True Pablove 2014 in Downtown LA and enjoy the neat festivities that help provide funds for Pablove’s mission: to fund pediatric cancer research and advances in treatment, educate and empower cancer families, and improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through hospital play, music and arts programs. It was a special time meeting others and seeing so many supporters and their families come out for this family event. The festivities included a silent auction, live music (K loved Rhythm Child), delicious food and drink, a gymnastics play area, and what K loved most…a TON of arts of craft tables to create!

Afterward, we met some friends at the Japanese American National Museum and listened to ukulele tunes by KoAloha Ukulele, walked around the museum and decorated some valentines. Other activities like origami projects and candy lei making were enjoyed by children throughout the room.

When we returned home, I showed K some of the photos I captured of her while working on her projects. “An-yeh (again)” and “Moh (mroe)” is what she told me while pointing at her work. I reassured her we would work on more valentines and other crafts again soon. Now she is in dreamland, probably dreaming of valentine making but this time with glitter…ZzzzzzZzzzzzZzzzzz….
